Dr. Ryan Hokanson, Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Ryan Hokanson is a native of northern Minnesota. He attended Roseau High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He then graduated in 2000 from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota. |
Dr. Hokanson was an associate doctor at Advanced Medical of Twin Cities before relocating to the Brainerd Lakes Area. He owned and operated Hokanson Chiropractic and Injury Center in Brainerd before joining HealthFirst Chiropractic in 2004 as Clinic Director of the Brainerd location. In 2006, Dr. Hokanson purchased HealthFirst Chiropractic of Brainerd and changed its name to Select Life Chiropractic. |
Hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, as well as a strong school system and small town atmosphere drew Dr. Hokanson and his wife, Patsy, to the Brainerd area. An avid sports fan, Dr. Hokanson enjoys watching and playing sports, especially hockey. He has experience as a youth hockey coach and also as an on-site chiropractor at sporting events. |
Dr. Hokanson enjoys treating patients of all ages, from seniors to infants. He was drawn to chiropractic after having his own chiropractic “miracle” and loves having the chance to help others without the use of drugs or surgery. |

Irene Rangen Spicer, Certified Massage Therapist
Irene Rangen Spicer is a native of the Brainerd Lakes area. She is trained and experienced in a variety of bodywork modalities, including traditional massage, deep tissue massage, Ortho-Bionomy®, Cranial Sacral, lymphatic massage, hot stone therapy, aromatherapy, and more. Irene personalizes care for the need and comfort of each patient. |

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Bethel College in St. Paul, MN, and is a graduate of the Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork. Irene has over 700 hours of training in Ortho-Bionomy®, (a gentle non-invasive technique which utilizes positioning and gentle movements to relieve pain and stress and assist the body in achieving balance and restoration.). She brings more than ten years of experience in massage therapy, along with spa consultant experience to work for you. |

Irene enjoys spending time with her husband, Don, as well as her many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters. She sings with the Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota, and serves on the board of directors for that non-profit group. She considers herself a mediocre piano player, and unwinds by playing her baby grand. She is also an experienced quilter, and writer and loves to cook great meals! |

Stacie Bokinskie, Office Manager
As Office Manager, Stacie is responsible for all patient relations, which include scheduling, insurance verification, billing procedures and assisting with therapy. Stacie is a graduate of the University of Minnesota – Duluth with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Sociology. She has also received her Master's Degree in Communications from Bethel College. She and her husband, Corey, enjoy spending time outdoors in the beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area. |

Julie Meister, Office Manager/Chiropractic Assistant
Julie is responsible for scheduling, billing and assisting the doctor with patient therapies. Julie is a graduate from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design and Photography. A native of the Brainerd Lakes Area, she enjoys playing softball, skiing and spending time with her husband, Ben and their two Labrador retrievers, Belle and Dixie. Prior to joining Select Life Chiropractic, Julie was the coordinator for the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail. |
